Every guitar player that has fallen in love with the guitar, either professional or amateur, dreams of owning (or at least playing) that dream guitar, the guitar that best fits his needs and his style, the ultimate guitar. And when talking about the ultimate guitar, the guitar of every player?s dreams, you have to take into consideration certain aspects that make this guitar the best. And although it is impossible to choose the ultimate guitar from all the great guitars out there (meaning that it is almost impossible for two people to agree on how the ultimate guitar should look and sound), you have a good chance of finding the guitar that fits you best, no matter how wild or eccentric your dreams are.

First of all, let?s start with all the great guitar brands out there. You have Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, Jackson, Squier, Washburn, Yamaha, Dean, or Gordon Smith, to name just a few, and these are all, by themselves, ultimate guitars, but we?re looking to find YOUR ultimate guitar. Some of these brands are specialized in building electric guitar, such as Fender for example, but that doesn?t mean they don?t build acoustic guitars as well (eg. Fender also owns Squier which builds acoustic guitars). That leads us to the first question you have to ask yourself: when you think about the ultimate guitar, do you dream of having an acoustic or an electric guitar? That, of course, depends on your style and the kind of music you play. If you play classical music, you?re looking for a classical guitar, if you play jazz you?re looking for an electric guitar or a steel string acoustic guitar, if you play rock you?re probably looking for an electric guitar and the best processor out there.

Nevertheless, if you?re looking for the ultimate guitar, these brands represent the starting point in your search. You have Fender, a company that has been in the business since the 1940s and is probably the most successful guitar manufacturer in the world. Probably the best known model from Fender is the Stratocaster. Almost all the great guitar players in the world have played a Stratocaster at some point in their music career. David Gilmour, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck are just some of the players that have played this ultimate guitar. And Fender?s Stratocaster is just one example. You should look into all the other great brands out there. They each have their own ultimate guitar, the great guitar model played by some great guitar player. Take Jimi Hendrix. He is probably that one guitarist that everybody has heard about. He played, as many other guitarists, a Fender Stratocaster. During his career, however, he also played Flying Vs from Gibson, Les Paul Customs, SGs, and others. And you can only name a guitar that Hendrix has played on an ultimate guitar.

Maybe you want your ultimate guitar to be a custom made. There are many manufacturers that do just that: take your idea of the ultimate guitar and build it for you. However, you?ll need money for that as they don?t come cheap.

After your ultimate guitar is in your hands, you?ll need strings. And you should buy the ultimate strings to go with this new ultimate guitar, so you want the best on the market. Some of the best guitar strings are D?Addario, Dean Markley, Elixir, Fender, or Martin. It is up to you which of these best fit your ultimate guitar
